Guerra Plastic Surgery Center Becomes One of Country’s First Practices to Adopt Fully Interactive, Web-based 3D Simulation Technology for Breast Augmentation

Scottsdale, Ariz. – December 22, 2011 – Guerra Plastic Surgery Center is now offering patients the breakthrough benefits of e-Stetix©, the first fully interactive web-based 3D simulator for breast augmentation. This new 3D simulation technology finally answers the most important question women ask, “How will I look after my surgery?”
A Swiss survey between November 2007 and February 2010 showed that 90% of women would prefer a plastic surgeon using a 3D simulator over a surgeon using standard methods for showing post-surgical results (bra & sizers). With the e-Stetix© 3D Virtual Wardrobe, a patient can now easily see how her favorite outfit looks on her ‘new’ body – everything from a trendy décolleté for a dinner party with friends, a revealing bikini for her beach holiday, or a chic office ensemble.
With just three standard digital photos and a few body measurements, e-Stetix© generates an immediate 3D simulation of the patient’s pre-surgery body. Aldo Benjamin Guerra, MD of Scottsdale, AZ to Present on Rhinoplasty and Abdominal Etching at National Meeting

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – MAY 7, 2007 – Aldo Benjamin Guerra, MD, a local plastic surgeon in Arizona was notified today by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that both papers he submitted have been accepted for presentation at the annual meeting held in October later this year. The first presentation summarizes Dr. Guerra’s experience with soft tissue augmentation in rhinoplasty over the past 24 months. His second presentation focuses on the use of liposuction for the enhancement of the abdominal muscles, a technique called “abdominal etching”, which Dr. Guerra has utilized for the past 5 years.
In the rhinoplasty presentation, Dr. Guerra plans to discuss the use of fascia, a soft tissue he obtains during surgery from the back of the patient’s ear to rebuild the nose. Dr. Guerra notices that some patients require augmentation as supposed to reduction of the nose to improve the appearance of the individual. Dr. Guerra stresses that he prefers a more natural result with all his procedures, but is especially interested in achieving the “most natural” results with nasal reshaping surgery.
“I have always had a great interest in nasal surgery and this paper describes a technique which I believe will assist many surgeons and patients alike to achieve a natural result with augmentation rhinoplasty,” said Dr. Aldo Guerra, Medical Director of the AB Guerra Plastic Surgery Clinic, Scottsdale, AZ.
In his second presentation, Dr. Aldo Guerra plans to discuss his experience with abdominal etching, a procedure used to enhance the appearance of the abdominal muscles. He plans to summarize, for the members of the society, the steps he takes to achieve an effective enhancement of the abdominal muscles while reducing potential side effects.
“Abdominal etching is a challenging procedure for most plastic surgeons. I believe that the steps outlined in my study will help surgeons and patients achieve better and more predictable results in the future,” said Dr. Aldo Guerra.

Aldo Benjamin Guerra, MD of Scottsdale, AZ and Colleagues Receive Prestigious Award for Landmark Paper on Breast Reconstruction

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – MAY 9, 2005 – Local Scottsdale plastic surgeon, Aldo Benjamin Guerra, MD and colleagues received the prestigious James Barrett Brown Award today at the 84th annual meeting of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons in Scottsdale, Arizona. The award was officially presented by James May, MD to Dr. Paul Gill, one of Dr. Guerra’s co-authors on the article entitled “A 10 year retrospective review of 758 DIEP flaps for breast reconstruction”. The article originally appeared in the international Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® in April 2004.
The James Barrett Brown Award was established in memory of James Barrett Brown, M.D., a past president of the Association, and is presented annually for the best plastic surgery related paper published during the previous calendar year. Members of the Association make the selection from articles published in the United States. At the opening ceremonies of the Annual Meeting, the recipient summarizes the clinical or basic science research of the award-winning paper.
“The DIEP flap is State-of-the-Art in breast reconstruction, I am glad to see that Association’s recognition of this wonderful work,” said Dr. Aldo Guerra, medical director of AB Guerra Plastic Surgery, Scottsdale, AZ.
Dr. Paul Gill presented a summary of the study’s findings for the members of the Association after receiving the award. Dr. Aldo Guerra and several of his co-authors were in attendance at the meeting. DIEP flaps are derived from abdominal tissue and serve as an ideal substitute for a woman’s breast after mastectomy. DIEP flaps allow for the maximal preservation of the abdominal muscles. This technique allows many patients to have a faster recovery and to experience less pain than patients treated with muscle-based flaps.
“Breast reconstruction surgery has come a long way over the last few decades. In the past, breast cancer survivors had few options after mastectomy. DIEP flaps are noteworthy for restoration of the breast in women suffering from breast cancer,” said Dr. Aldo Guerra.
