Facial Plastic Surgery: Browlift I.
1Scottsdale – A forehead lift is a plastic surgery procedure used to enhance the appearance of the forehead, frown lines, and to alter the position of the eyebrows. Patients commonly request rejuvenation of the forehead because aging, gravity and exposure can significantly affect the forehead, creating flabby skin, wrinkles, and droopy eyebrows.
A forehead lift has three positive effects, including a reduction of lines and wrinkles, a tightening effect on loose skin, and a repositioning of the eyebrows into a more youthful position. A forehead lift is also known as browplasty, browpexy, endoscopic or coronal forehead lift. Forehead lift operations have many names, combining descriptive terms, based on the goals or techniques used.
Regardless of which technique is used, the procedure should accomplish the three basic goals described earlier, including a reduction in the number of wrinkles, a tightening of skin laxity, and a restoration of the eyebrows into a more youthful position.
Patents may choose which specific technique appeals to them the most, based on their comfort with the location and length of incisions, amount of downtime, and the desired goals of cosmetic surgery of the face and forehead. In our experience, the top priority for most patients, when seeking forehead lift, is the length and type of incision used.

A simple brow lift.
0Scottsdale – I like the lateral brow lift technique and have used it for many years. This procedure is simple compared to other techniques available and is used by many well-respected plastic surgeons.
The lateral brow tends to sag as we age. Sagging in this area is quite troublesome as it forces the eyelid skin to bunch up creating fine lines and wrinkles. The eyelids may appear heavy and droopy because the brows become saggy. The lateral browlift is able to reposition the most troublesome part of the eyebrow, which is always the lateral portion.
I like the lateral brow lift because it is known to have very low complications and keeps the surgery above the plane of the facial nerve. The procedure is done in the subcutaneous plane and can be done completely under local anesthesia, if necessary. The incision does not have to go all the way across the hairline. In fact, I perform a mini-incision lateral brow lift that is effective at repositioning the droopy eyebrow.
There are many options available for rejuvenation of the face and eyebrows. The lateral brow lift is a very trustworthy option offered at the AB Guerra Plastic Surgery Center.
